The U.S. Constitution requires that there be a census (official count) of
the country's population once every 10 years. Everyone living in the 50
states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories is required to
respond. Information regarding how to respond to the census will be mailed
to households March 12-20, 2020. Online and telephone response options will
be available after March 12th. For households that have not responded by
the end of April, the Census Bureau will begin in-person visits in May, but
households can still respond online, by phone, or by mail until July 31,
Please let Library staff know if you have questions regarding the census.
Staff can provide help with locating information about response options and
online questionnaire guides and can explain basic features of the online
form, such as how to navigate the pages or change the language. Staff are
not able to assist with the completion of the census form or interpret
census questions. Please see the pages below for additional information.
